The Lincolnshire League comprises 5 matches held between March and September on Sundays at Grantham and Lincoln athletics tracks
Lincolnshire County championships are held over a weekend in May (The championships for U17 men and U20/senior/veteran ladies 5k and men’s 10k are incorporated in the final league match).
A varied programme of track and field events are offered to all age groups from under 11’s to under 20’s, Senior men/women and Veteran men/women.
Athletes can put their skills into practice and score points for the club by participating in as many disciplines as possible over the season. Our junior teams have been well placed in the League comprising 11 clubs.
During each match:
Under 11’s can compete in one track and one field event.
Under 13’s can compete in up to three events plus one relay but cannot compete in both the 800m and 1500m on the same day and cannot compete in races exceeding 1500m.
Under U15’s can compete in up to three events plus one relay but cannot compete in both the 800m and 1500m on the same day and cannot compete in races exceeding 3000m.
Under 17’s can compete in up to three events plus one relay.
Under 20’s can compete in up to five events.
Each participating Club needs to provide a minimum of 4 field judges/helpers for each match, so we are grateful for adult volunteers.
Entry fees for these matches are paid by the Club. Club vests must be worn.
Results of the first round on the Lincs Track and Field can be found on the Boston and District AC website >>here<<
Track and Field information for 2017 season
This year we have 2 leagues to enter – Lincs League and as a composite team (joined up with Sleaford, Grantham and Newark) in the Youth Development League (YDL). This is an exciting year where we have the opportunity to give our better athletes more chances to compete.
The leagues are very much geared up for beginners as well as seasoned athletes, so please try something new and don’t be afraid to come! As in previous years – if your child is competing we will be asking you to assist with officiating – its very simple and helps the competition to run smoothly.
